Pinehaven School has a part time Learning Support Coordinator Sally van der Weele who leads and oversees the school’s provision of support for children with additional needs.
Our school’s Learning Support Team consists of our Principal, Phillipa Whiteman, Deputy Principal & SENCO, Rachel Johnston and Learning Support Coordinator, Sally van der Weele. This team meets every fortnight and deals with resourcing, support and referrals to agencies outside the school.
Teachers refer children to the team who then coordinate and plan for support. This is strengths based and designed to meet individual needs.
Should you be concerned about your child’s learning or behaviour then talk to your child’s kaiako and ask whether it is appropriate to refer your child to the learning support team.
