Enrolment

In Zone Enrolment Process

Our school provides programmes for children in Years 1-6. The Board invites enrolment from families who wish to enrol their children at Pinehaven School.
Enrolment at our school is governed by an enrolment scheme, which means that we have a ‘home zone’, all children who live within this zone are entitled to enrol at our school. Details of our home zone can be found by clicking here.

We welcome enrolment for new students at all year levels, at any time throughout the year, from within our home zone. For new entrant enrolment, in order to assist us with future planning, it is helpful to complete the enrolment process around 6-12 months prior to your child’s 5th birthday.

If you live within the home zone and would like to enrol your child, please click the ‘enrol now’ button to complete an online enrolment form. Please ensure that all enrolment procedures are completed – enrolment forms must be accompanied by a copy of your child’s proof of identity (their birth certificate or passport), their immunisation certificate and most importantly proof of your in zone address. Proof of your in zone address must be in the form of a utility bill or statutory declaration. We do not accept bank statements or personal letters.

If you have any questions about the home zone, any of the enrolment processes or if you live in our home zone and would like to make an appointment to meet with Phillipa Whiteman, our Principal, please contact the school office on 528 4365 or email office@pinehaven.school.nz

Out of Zone Enrolment

Twice a year the Board will determine if there is capacity for enrolment, of new entrant children, who live outside our home zone. The exact number of places will depend on the number of enrolments received from students who live in zone. Application forms must be received from the siblings of current out of zone children to be considered for in the out of zone enrolment process.

Out of Zone enrolment is determined by the priority order outlined in the Education and Training Act 2020. If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by a ballot conducted in accordance with the act. All applications will be advised of the outcome of the ballot within 5 school days of the ballot taking place.

We are currently accepting applications for out of zone children turning 5
between the 1st of January & the 31st of December 2027. The deadline for
the receipt of applications for these places is 4pm Friday, 16th of October
2026. If a ballot is necessary it will be held on Friday, 23rd of October –
families will be notified of the outcome by Friday, 30th of October.
